My grandparents came to talk to my parents about a \u201cadult issue\u201d when I was a child, and we never communicated with them again.<\/p>\n
I had no idea what had transpired.<\/p>\n
Years later, I discovered a cousin on Facebook, and we met for coffee.<\/p>\n
I realized that the reason we no longer spoke was because my mother acquired a slew of credit cards and accumulated debt in my grandmother\u2019s<\/p>\n
name that she had no intention of repaying.<\/p>\n
My cousin and I kept it between ourselves, and she has no idea I know.<\/p>\n
Here is another story: I found out I have another brother that my father never told us about.<\/p>\n
I went to school with him.<\/p>\n
Served him sandwiches when I worked at the local deli.<\/p>\n
Probably we\u2019ve crossed paths thousands of times before we found out.<\/p>\n
We got to know each other and he\u2019s pretty awesome.<\/p>\n
