27-Year-Old Influencer Dies in Tragic Incident, Husband Takes His Own Life

A community in Georgia is mourning after a heartbreaking series of events involving a young influencer and her husband, both well-known on social media.

On the evening of June 14, 2025, a domestic dispute in Twin City ended in the death of 27-year-old Zaria Khadejah Carr and the suicide of her 36-year-old husband, Shamarcus Jameal Carr. The shocking events, which spanned two counties, have left many stunned — not just because of their tragic outcome, but also because of the couple’s online presence.

Authorities report that police were called around 9:30 p.m. to a disturbance on 5th Avenue. When they arrived, they found Zaria unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Shamarcus was gone — as was Zaria’s 2021 Dodge Challenger.

A be-on-the-lookout alert was issued for the vehicle. At about 11 p.m., deputies in Wayne County found the car and tried to pull it over. Before they could act, Shamarcus fatally injured himself. He was taken to a hospital but did not survive.

An autopsy is planned for Zaria, though the exact cause of her death has not yet been released.

Earlier that evening, Zaria posted a desperate message on Facebook under the name “Dutchess Dior,” saying, “I really don’t know what to do .. but i need help before i lose my life or freedom ! My kids need me!”

A friend urged caution, and Zaria responded, “I know but this mf done got on the dumb [expletive] so if i die somebody need to know [sic].”

Later, at about 8 p.m., a Facebook Live video appeared on Shamarcus’ account “The Frenchman,” with over 45,000 followers. The video showed the couple in their kitchen. On the surface, their interaction seemed like everyday banter — but tension was visible. They exchanged harsh words, and the final moments showed Zaria grabbing Shamarcus’ phone as he asked for it back.

Authorities confirmed they’re reviewing the social media content as part of their investigation. Funeral services for Zaria will take place on June 20, with burial the following day at Jones Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Midville. Her obituary page has been filled with tributes and messages of grief.

Shamarcus’ death is under investigation by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office. Officials urge anyone with information to contact the GBI Eastman Regional Office at 478-374-6988 or the Twin City Police Department at 478-763-4140. Once complete, the case will be handed to the Middle Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office.

Sadly, this tragedy follows another devastating case from a month earlier. In Albuquerque on May 24, 2025, police found four members of the Bockemeier family dead in an apparent murder-suicide.

Firefighters responding to a house fire discovered 76-year-old Stephen Bockemeier, 77-year-old Marcia Bockemeier, and their 48-year-old son Erik, all killed by gunshot wounds before the fire began. Soon after, police found 35-year-old Andrew Bockemeier, another son, dead by suicide nearby. The weapon linked him to the killings of his family members.

A note was found at the home, though its contents remain undisclosed. Authorities continue to investigate the details, with mental health challenges suspected as a contributing factor.

Albuquerque police expressed deep concern about the rising toll of such tragedies and emphasized the unseen struggles some families face.
